Preparing and Recovering from an Elective c-section
Written and filmed by pelvic floor physiotherapist Rosie Davie, owner of Rosie Davie Physiotherapy Ltd. This is for any mum planning an elective c-section delivery or for any mum who is looking to recover from an elective c-section from day 0 - 6 weeks.
This is not for any mum who is recovering from a vaginal delivery or had an emergency c- section. This course can be started at any time in your pregnancy but is best suited for the second into third trimesters.
It will discuss ways to prepare physically for an elective c-section; pelvic floor, bowel and bladder education and how might a c-section impact these. The course will look at ways to help healing, promote pain relief and how to build back movement and strengthen your core and pelvic floor over a 6 week period.
Pre and post op physiotherapy is not routine involvement for mums under going c-section delivery, even though this is invasive surgery and should be respected when it comes to healing your body.
